This weekend was only a taste of what’s to come this week. Temperatures and humidity are going to get uncomfortable to say the least. Dangerous heat indices will persist through the July 4th weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday through Thursday will be the warmest with heat indexes 100\u00b0-107\u00b0, sparking the National Weather Service to issue a Heat Advisory.<\/p>\n\n\n

HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON MONDAY TO 8 PM EDT THURSDAY<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • WHAT\u2026Heat index values up to 106 expected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • WHERE\u2026All of central Indiana.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • WHEN\u2026From noon Monday to 8 PM EDT Thursday.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • IMPACTS\u2026Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    • Monday (June 29):<\/strong> High of 92\u00b0F. Intervals of clouds and sunshine with heat index values flirting with the triple digits.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Tuesday (June 30):<\/strong> High of 93\u00b0F. Sunny, hot, and very humid. Outdoor activity should be paced carefully.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Wednesday (July 1):<\/strong> High of 94\u00b0F. Mostly sunny and hot; uncomfortable conditions persist.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Thursday (July 2):<\/strong> High of 94\u00b0F. Mostly sunny with little to no rain expected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Friday (July 3) & Weekend:<\/strong> Highs in the low 90s with increasing cloud cover and a 40-50% chance of scattered thunderstorms providing some cooling. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Take precautions this week especially if you primarily work outdoors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
